I am a technologist, creative, and hedge fund manager. I enjoy solving (or helping solve) complex problems.

My technology background gives me a systems-level perspective on markets and risk, while my academic work in economics places those insights in a broader macroeconomic context. I occasionally share this perspective through market commentary on television and in print.

I’m active on the amateur radio bands (mostly FT8) as W2FUR. I hold an amateur extra license in the United States and operate from an ICOM 7300 into a backyard dipole, staying connected to a global community of operators and continuing to explore the frontiers of communication.
